Our Story
For the past 11 years, the members of Olu Yemisi & Company
Dancers have transformed the face of cultural dance.
Through performing and teaching they have presented
cutting edge performances to the Caribbean, Latin, and
African dance worlds. The dance company is comprised of
performers who are also dance teachers. All of the members
began as students of Olu Yemisi. Over the years, they have
learned her style and technique. She has taught them how
to add flavor and spice to the ethnic genres that the
company dances.
Our mission is to perform and promote dance to inspire
and enhance individuals lives culturally, emotionally, and
physically. We are dedicated to improving communities
through our high quality dance classes and activities
motivating today's innovators and tomorrows leaders.
We educate and inspire spectators, students, performers
in training, and all of our participants by involving them in
unforgettable cultural dance experiences. The participants
in our programs are taught to strive for excellence so
that the excitement and thrill of dance can be realized.
Our educational programs foster a positive and creative
environment that sharpens the mind. Participants enjoy
fitness through our dance programs. Performances and
events are offered in a friendly and fun social
environment to the general public.
